Memphis’ First Bloomsday (James Joyce Day) June 16 2009
Experience Dublin from the eyes and words of renowned author and literary favorite James Joyce at Celtic Crossing. Starting 5 pm we will have live readings from selections of Joyce’s famed Ulysses read by Memphis actors and Joyce scholars as the strains of ‘Finnegans Wake’ echo through the air and help recreate the legendary scenery present in the novel. Showings of the movie ‘Bloom’ based on Joyce’s novel will play throughout the afternoon and evening |
